Short-Term Support for Lasting Change

Loving someone who suffers from addiction means living in chaos.  Family Support Coaching can help you step off the emotional roller coaster and onto a clearer, brighter path.

A Little Guidance Can Go a Long Way

Addiction not only affects the individual. It impacts the entire family. Relationships deteriorate, trust is broken, and emotions like guilt, fear, and resentment take over. Finding resolution requires more than love and willpower. When families try to manage addiction without professional support, it can further complicate an already baffling situation. A coach with expertise in addiction and recovery can help families support their loved one without losing themselves.

Unlike many addiction professionals who require families to commit to several months of services to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars, Tom provides family support coaching billed a few hours at a time and at a reasonable hourly rate.

Why Choose Tom as Your Recovery Coach?

I’ve developed a unique approach to coaching informed by what I’ve learned on my own path and based on nearly three decades of experience in the treatment industry.

What is your role as a recovery coach?

A solid support system is critical to someone on the path to recovery. As your coach, I want ours to be the model for every healthy, supportive relationship you build moving forward. Part of my job is to help you begin to use the tools you gathered from the treatment experience. With me, you can practice having the conversations you may not want to have, but you know you need to have if you intend to maintain abstinence. I can help you through the often-awkward initial stages of creating a new life as a sober person as you begin to re-engage with those closest to you.

What about alternative pathways to recovery?

I tell clients, “I don’t care how you get sober. I care that you get sober.” Facilities often refer people to me who bristle at Twelve Step philosophy and have no desire to attend meetings when they leave treatment. Although the Twelve Steps saved my life, I don’t need you to do it the way I did it. I want you to find the way that works for you – a way that is sustainable for you. I’m here to help you determine what that way is and to support you until you find it.

How frequently do you interact with your clients?

The frequency of meetings can vary based on individual needs. Typically, clients benefit from daily contact, especially in the early stages of recovery.

What can I expect from coaching sessions?

Sessions are tailored to your personal goals and challenges. Together, we create a plan that supports your recovery journey and addresses any obstacles you face.
