Long-Term Recovery: Seeing the Big Picture

Becoming Who You Were Meant to Be

With private personalized recovery coaching, I’ll guide you through the wilderness of early recovery toward a life you won’t want to escape.

Finding a Way That Works for You

In the beginning of my own recovery, I adopted a mantra: “If I do this right this time, I’ll never have to do it again.”

Even when a person is glad to go to treatment and eager to step onto the path to recovery, no one ever envisions this for themselves. No one, really, ever wants to go through something like this.

My key objective as your recovery coach is to support you in doing whatever is necessary to make sure you never have to do this again. We will work together to determine what that is, so you can move on and create the life you deserve.

Why Choose Tom as Your Recovery Coach?

I've developed a unique approach to coaching informed by what I've learned on my own path and based on nearly three decades of experience in the treatment industry.

What is your role as a recovery coach?

A solid support system is critical to someone on the path to recovery. As your coach, I want ours to be the model for every healthy, supportive relationship you build moving forward. Part of my job is to help you begin to use the tools you gathered from the treatment experience. With me, you can practice having the conversations you may not want to have, but you know you need to have if you intend to maintain abstinence. I can help you through the often-awkward initial stages of creating a new life as a sober person as you begin to re-engage with those closest to you.

What about alternative pathways to recovery?

I tell clients, "I don't care how you get sober. I care that you get sober." Facilities often refer people to me who bristle at Twelve Step philosophy and have no desire to attend meetings when they leave treatment. Although the Twelve Steps saved my life, I don’t need you to do it the way I did it. I want you to find the way that works for you - a way that is sustainable for you. I’m here to help you determine what that way is and to support you until you find it.

How frequently do you interact with your clients?

The frequency of meetings can vary based on individual needs. Typically, clients benefit from daily contact, especially in the early stages of recovery.

What can I expect from coaching sessions?

Sessions are tailored to your personal goals and challenges. Together, we create a plan that supports your recovery journey and addresses any obstacles you face.
